The National Piping Centre

The National Piping Centre, at the top of Hope Street
A centre of music and hospitality, world class tuition and performance. Discover – in one place – the music of Scotland’s Great Highland Bagpipe and the traditions and culture of playing at gatherings large and small. The centre, in conjunction with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland nearby and with other colleges, provides education and tuition recognised internationally. Its music studios and function space also support community piping clubs.
Beyond the building’s impressive entrance, and for a small donation, its Museum of Piping celebrates 300 years of bagpiping history here and overseas. Professionally displayed and interpreted, including film and video. In the Bagpipe Shop you can select everything musical from sheet music and starter packs to deluxe bagpipes and some vintage whiskies.
Stepping through to the Pipers’ Tryst restaurant provides refreshment and sustenance all day and evening.
