About the Festival

Glasgow’s Blythswood Festival 2026 brings together more major venues of international status, showcasing art, music, heritage and enjoyment. Running from 1 May to 17 May 2026. In the largest part of the city-centre, all the streets west of Buchanan Street. Enjoy exploring what’s on and visiting unique venues and events. Refreshments and food available at the National Piping Centre, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Mackintosh Tearooms, Glasgow Art Club, Mitchell Library, and Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel.

Helping increase footfall, enjoyment and business in a city-centre area of architectural excellence and urban renewal. Celebrating arts, music, heritage, commerce and innovation with a focus on Blythswood including Sauchiehall Street and its connecting streets. Advancing architecture, design, conservation and re-use.

Extending across Blythswood, with boundaries flexible, starting with the city-centre area between Hope Street and Charing Cross;  and Bothwell Street to Garnethill. Embracing the public, performers,  visitors and residents in the life and promotion of the area, its creativity, and history.

And inaugurating new Blythswood Festival Awards each of £1,000 which you can apply for across four sectors. These are open to individuals and groups in Greater Glasgow and surrounding counties to help them pursue their ideas and initiatives. Entries are open now and welcome, using the AWARD APPLICATIONS button in this website. Closing date is Sunday 26 April. The Awards Ceremony will be on Tuesday 12 May in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow in St Vincent Street.
