Visit the Museum of Piping at The National Piping Centre to explore 300 years of Scotland’s musical history in our permanent collection\, and try the bagpipes for yourself! \n\n\n\nEnjoy fascinating films on the history\, culture and music of the bagpipe – here and overseas – before trying your hand at playing this iconic Scottish instrument. Stepping through to the Pipers Tryst restaurant provides refreshment and sustenance all day and evening. \n\n\n\nGeneral admission is £5 for self-guided tour. Open Daily \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday 9am – 5pm (last entry 4pm) \n\n\n\nSaturday – Sunday 9am – 3pm (last entry 2pm) \n\n\n\nMeet the Piper Tours  \n\n\n\nDiscover the story behind Scotland’s national instrument with our Meet the Piper tour – a unique experience that brings piping history and tradition to life. Join us just before 12 noon where you will be greeted by a professional piper playing outside the building. Then guided by our piper host\, you’ll explore our Museum of Piping\, learn about the history and culture of the Great Highland Bagpipe. You will then be able to get hands on with the practice chanter to learn a tune and then try the bagpipes all live in this intimate setting. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and see the instrument up close.A must-do for visitors looking for an authentic taste of Scottish heritage. \n\n\n\nThe Meet the Piper Tour is available on \n\n\n\nFridays and Saturdays 1st & 2nd May\, 8th & 9th May and 15th & 16th May all starting at 12noon.  \n\n\n\nEntry fee is £5 and the tour is included in the entry fee \n\n\n\nNo need to book\, arrive around 10 minutes before the start of the event to get your tickets on the day.
